How to insert GD&T Symbols?

We are still using the '03 version of Excel at work, so that is what I have been using at home.

Recently I borrowed an IMac (my PC crashed), and I have installed the trial version of 2011 Office for Mac. Unfortunately I cannot insert the GD&T symbols I need to do my job.

Up until now I have installed/used CyberMetricsGDT fonts successfully, but only in PC's. I don't know if it's because I am new to the Mac, new to 2011, or both. Any tips or suggestions would be welcome.

Many Thanks,

JGyrine

    Some did, some didn't.

Ended up getting a GD&T Font generator; it provides the correct fonts and seems to work across the board.

Thanks for all your assistance; having alternate views/inputs helped me decide to go this route.

I like this site, y'all do good work.

Have you looked at the character and/or keyboard viewer? Select them from the keyboard prefs in System Preferences.

Another observation: I cannot locate the drop-down menu when inserting symbols. In '03 I have a choice range from Abigail to Wingdings.......2011 must be hiding these options, as the list is limited.

The Cybermetrics I loaded can be inserted as a font, but requires me to determine the conversion ( Capital T = the parallel symbol, etc.). It is not avalable in the 'Insert' method I describe above.

I've been researching this for over two weeks; hopefully someone here has an answer.

    Thanks again.

The font installed just fine, but my previous ('03 version) method was to click on INSERT > SYMBOLS > and then choose the Cybermetrics font. I would then dbl click the appropriate feature and it would insert.

The best part, from a work point of view, was that the resulting feature control frame appeared just as it does on a blueprint. I work in aerospace, so that clarity/reproducibility is required.

I will generate a more specific explanation and post it tomorrow........off to fight the rest of the road rodents heading home.

    Thanks for the response.

Have you purchased the GT&T fonts? have you tried to install them? If so, what happened? We will need a bit more detail in order to help you.
