how can I change one word in the whole text?

for  ex.: I want to change the word "ashtray" to "ash-tray" in the whole text.

    Use the Find/Replace function of Word. It's on your Menu bar under the Edit tab. You'll enter "ashtray" into the Find text box and "ash-tray" in the Replacement text box and then select the Replace All button.
