Microsoft Word - Query about what "content created" (Properties - Details - Origin) actually tells us?

Hello there guys,

I would much obliged if you could advise me on the following query:

I recently received a letter from my employer which was contained in a Microsoft Word file attached to an email.

In the word file, When I go to 'Properties' then "Details" then go down to "Origin" it states that the content was created 06/04/2012 11:26.  It states that it is Revision number 4 and Date Last Saved was 10/04/2012 15:27.

In the letter (dated 10/04/2012) within this word document I was made redundant by my employer. This followed a meeting on the morning of 10/04/2012.

The name the word file has been saved as made clear I was to be made redundant as it included my name and the words "final notice of redundancy."

Are you guys able to tell me:

 - Could the name of the word file have been edited since 06/04/2012? i.e. was it called final notice of redundancy back on that date?

My concern is that my employer had been planning to make me redundant before we even met on 10/04/2012.

Your assistance would be very much appreciated!

Many thanks,

Kieran

If Save As was used, that changes the creation date. However, if a file is renamed in Windows I don't know that this changes either the creation or the modification dates for the file.

This definitely could be a form letter that was created in June. It could have been copied and renamed in Windows at a later date without changing the creation date.

It is possible to have a modified date that is earlier than the creation date.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to know what content was revised/modified/added. But with the provided information it is definite that the file must have been created on 06/04/2012 11:26 as per its statement.

The modification/addition of the document could be anything. Blank file could’ve been created on 06/04/2012 11:26 and the data could’ve been added and last saved on 06/04/2012 11:26. Hence there is no option to know the modified content.
