Using Microsoft equation 3.0 in Office 2007

Hi, I'm using Office 2007, but have to submit a document in Office 2003 format. I had already written equations using the Equation Editor in the 2007 ribbon which appeared perfectly, however these cannot be used in the final document. I understand that I have to use Microsoft Office Equation 3.0 to write the equations. I can locate this from the Object tab, but am unable to format the equations so that they appear as I'd like them to. At the moment it doesn't seem to matter how I type the equation it all just ends up running in one long sentence.

One equation I'm trying to write is

                          TP

Sensitivity =    -----   * 100

                      TP+FN

but it just looks like this Sensitivity=TP/(TP+FN)*100

What do I have to do to format the formulae?

Thanks in advance

In Equation 3.0, you don't just type the equation: you have to use the templates that are available from the floating Equation Editor toolbar. The second group from the left on the bottom row are "fraction and radical templates." You insert a fraction template (the top left one), and then you get two boxes to type in. You type your numerator in the top one and your denominator in the bottom one.

To insert the multiplication sign (which EE uses instead of *), you select it from the "Operator symbols" gallery (fourth from the left on the top row). EE spaces elements automatically and doesn't accept input from the Spacebar, but if you want more space between elements, you can insert spaces from the "Spaces and ellipses" gallery. Exponents, matrices, and other elements and symbols are available from other galleries on the toolbar.
