Is there a way to pull data from SQL into Powerpoint?

I want to automate a monthly deck my team produces for a finance department by pulling data from a sql db into Powerpoint. For example, I want to show in a text box something like the following:

QTD Overall Results: $5M or 4% favorable to forecast

And I want the $5M and 4% to update based on which month I select as the current month. I have a table in SQL that does the math for me and it's easy to do something like this in Excel, but I haven't figured out a way to do it within Powerpoint.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

You may check below thread to see if that works to connect to SQL Server using ADO to retrieve data into your Presentation.

If that would be to complex you might just embed/ link an Excel file which has the data already:

    Hope this helps,

"To connect to SQL DB or any database, Excel or Flat files, refer to this link http://prodentechnologies.net/products/accelbiformsoffice.html

This is a PowerPoint add-in that can be installed and configured to pull data from lots of data sources like Oracle, SQL Server, Access. The Standard Edition is free."
