Original title: format cells in excel

Saw an article on how to format cells in excel.  Performed the part where the extreme upper left corner is clicked leading to the font change.  Cannot find "OL" to click.  What does "OL" stand for and where can it be found.?

Find it hard to follow your thoughts.

First it was changing fonts, now it is changing cell dimensions.

You cannot change the dimensions of one cell and have that change transmitted to all cells.

You can change row heights or column widths which affects all cells in those rows or columns.

If you can post the URL of the ehow site we may get an idea.

The "OL" came from an "eHow.com" tutorial.  I could find no authentic microsoft tutorial.  I got the upper left corner part, and changing font size but what I wanted to know how I can change the dimensions of one cell and have it apply to all.  Have never understood why so many things that could be instructive in a few images cannot be found.

Clicking the upper left corner at the row/column intersection will select all cells of the worksheet.

After that you can do what you need to all cells.

    Don't know what OL means.

Can you share the articel with us? I have no idea what you mean by 'clcik the extreme left corner' to change font size. In Excel 2007/2010 you can clcik the Home/Font group with an icon showing a A with up arrow to make font larger, with down arrow to make smaller. best wishes
