How to remove all notes from Project 2010

We sometimes share our Microsoft Project plan with our customers that includes sensitive internal information, mostly in the Notes.  Currently, we delete each individual note which is time consuming as there are around 500 tasks and 90% of those have Notes.  The Notes are in the template that we start each project from.  We want the Notes to be visible for internal use but want them to be inaccessable to outside customers.

Question - is there a fast and clean way to remove all Notes from Project 2010?

Thanks in Advance

Hi ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project forum :)

You can remove Notes en mass.  First, insert a new column and select the Notes field.  Now select the top entry (not the title - if you do, this process will remove it from the view, which could then be recovered by your client) click and drag down to the last task and click the Delete key.  The undo button will recover the situation - but I suggest you work on a copy of the file for sending to your client. When you get the copy back with amendment, you can open your original and copy/past the Notes column across, then save as the latest version.  Alternatively, you could copy/past the Notes column into Excel and reverse when the file comes back.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this web address:  http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
