Thank you, I am using a Dell laptop so it is a normal Qwerty keyboard... when I push ctrl+shift+f it does bring up the formatting but this seems to be just to format the font?

I also have a Dell laptop -- albeit it an old one.  It has a Num Lk key, and the "numeric keypad" is blue-Fn functions overlaying the QWERTY keys 7 through 0, U through O, J through L, and M.  (Some additional "numeric keypad" functions are also provided.  Mine keyboard is so worn that I can no longer read them.)

As for ctrl+shift+F....  As I noted, that it is for XL2007 and later.  It does not open a Format Cells menu in XL2003, which you indicated you use in the "applies to" information in your original posting.

For XL2003, follow my instructions as I wrote them, to wit:  type "m2", highlight 2 in the Formula Bar and for XL2003, click on Format, then Cells and select Superscript, then press Enter.
