    Hi,

    File|Options|Proofing|Auto correct options

Enter (c) in the replace box and then press delete.

Note the is global and effects every Office application.

That's AutoCorrect trying to be too helpful. You should be able to turn it off by going to File -> Help -> Options -> Proofing -> AutoCorrect Options -> AutoCorrect Options.  Uncheck "Replace text as you type" and hit OK out of all the dialog boxes.

It is one of the default "autocorrects". If it is an occasional thing, you can use <CTL><Z> to undo it.

If you want to permanently disable it, you can go to File tab > Options command > Proofing option > Autocorrect Options button > Autocorrect tab.  If you turn off "Replace as you type" it will stop all of the shortcuts. Or you can simply delete the ones that are bothering you.

Yes, it does work for me.

They key is you have to do it immediately after the autochange otherwise that "change" gets buried under other changes that have to be undone first before you can get to the symbol change
