change the Enter key behavior

I want the enter key behavior to open a new record.  I have to click multiple times to get to a new record.  The company "upgraded" and the old version did this, now  enter is the same as tab.  I don't need 2 tab keys.  I am using 2010 now.

What I actually need to do is to number my records so that I can make a work plan and tell my crews to go from location 1 to 2 to 3 etc,. and in what order to do this.  I know there is a better way, but I have not been able to figure it out.  I have settled on numbering the forms first then filling in the data later.  when I have to click 3 times for each form then go back to the key board to enter the number, back to the mouse to click... repeat 300 times.... what is efficent about that?! Please help!

    Hi Tammie,

In regards to your first question about changing the Enter key behavior, you can do the following:

    +>Open your database.

+>Click on the File tab and select options.

+>Within the options dialog, click on the Client Settings.

+>You should be able to change the “Move after enter” setting (which I believe is the first one).

    Best Regards,

    Nathan O.
