How do I list dates evenly on the right side of the page?

I want to be able to list dates on the right side of a resume. On the left side would be the job description and company and on the left would be dates like this:

   COMPANY                                                                                                                                                                                                                  1996-1997

    job Title

    Job description

   COMPANY                                                                                                                                                                                                                   1995-1996

    job Title

    job description

I have been eyeballing  it but I thought there was a way to do it with tabs.

So I tried to set a either a center or a right tab at the margin.  But it is not working.

My document has 0.5 margins top bottom, left and right.

Now my question is: if I go to the tab dialogue box where do I set the tab stop at exactly?

I want the dates to end at the right margin as you see above.

I don't want to start typing the date and then have it jump to the next line before I finish.  I have to have it all on one line and flush with the right margin.

The dialogue box wants to know exactly where to set the stop.  I have to select  the type of tab and  type in a number.

Is there a way generally to figure out where to put a tab stop if you want it on the right margin?

I imagine I would subtract whatever the margin is--in this case 0.5 from the length of the entire page.  But how much is the entire page?

You can use click and type to right-align that information.  Move your mouse along the line where you want to enter the date without holding down any mouse buttons and watch for the symbol near the insertion point (the I-shaped symbol) to change to a right-align icon (straight right edge and jagged left edge).  As soon as this happens, double-click and Word will place a right-align tab stop on your right margin, your cursor will jump to the right-hand side of the page and you can type your date.

You can use click and type to right-align that information.

I hadn't realized Click-and-Type was so intelligent. I keep it turned off. This is the first time I've heard of it being useful. Thank you for sharing this.

Well through trial and error I discovered that if I go to the tab dialogue box and set a right tab at 7.5 then that does the trick.

        My margin is 0.5.

I am really not sure why this works or how to figure it out if I use a different page margin.

Boy I made a blunder in asking that question.  I meant to say that the dates should be at the far right- at the right margin-- not at the left.   I dont want them in the center either.   The Company name goes on the left and the date on the right.

    Company                                                                                                                                date

I would like to use the tab dialogue box to do it.  But I do not know what to set it at.
