Keyboard shortcut for Select All

How ridiculous is this. In Microsoft Word 2003 and earlier, the keyboard shortcut for Select All was this:

   ALT+E,  A

In Word 2007, it is this:

   ALT+H,  ZN,  SL,  A

How do smart people make these kind of decisions in designing their products?

Another method (requires the mouse, so I guess it depends on which arm is in a sling whether it will be preferable) is to press Ctrl while pointing the mouse at the text from the left margin.

    Try Ctrl+A.

Thanks! This is harder when one arm is in a sling, but at least most people aren't typing with one arm in a sling.
