Hi,

Here is a way to remove citation

Click the citation you want to remove, click on the ▼
Select Convert citation to static text.
Delete the static text.

What do you mean by "replace"? I think you can insert Text Box (ActiveX Control) directly. You can find this control by clicking Legacy Tools in Controls group.

Hi,

Click the citation you want to remove, click on the ▼

You can Delete a Citation from your Bibliography by using the Source List in the Manage Sources menu within the REFERENCES tab, besides removing it from the body of you document by converting it to Text first.
