Which Edition of Office did you purchase (Office Home and Student 2010, Office Home and Business 2010, Office Professional 2010)?

Do you use Grove application?

If no, you may use the ‘Fix it’ tool using the ‘Method 2’ this will remove all the installed components of Office from the Computer:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/ (Office 2007)

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2639197 (Office 2003)

Note: If you are using Windows 64 bit operating system, save the ‘Fix it’ on desktop before running it.

Once you have uninstalled the older version of Office you may use the disc and the product key to re install Office 2010 and verify the status.

Have you looked in your "Uninstall a program" wizard in Control Panel to see if Groove is still installed?
