How do I change my default paper size to A4?

I have office 2008 for mac and I can't seem to change the default paper size from US letter to A4. I'm tired of having to change it every single time and would rather have it done automatically every time I create a new document.

Thank you for your help.

Open your Normal.dotm template and change that.  To do this:

    1.  CLOSE all other documents
    2.  Use File>Open to navigate to your Normal.dotm template.  This file can be literally anywhere, but unless you have

moved it, it should be in

    /Users/ ~ /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates/

    1.  Choose "Open".  If you double-click it, you will be handed a copy and the changes won't work.

Change the paper size.  While you are at it, check and change the spelling language: if the paper size is wrong, it is very likely the spelling language is also.

When you have made the change, save and quit Word (to ensure your changes are saved from memory back to the hard disk.

All future documents will have A4 paper size.
