Save Failed Due to Out of Memory and Word 2010

I recently switched from Office 2007 to Office 2010 . I am using Windows 7 32-bit. On the recommendation of an MVP (who just removed his answer and recommendation), I deleted my registry keys under Office in Regedit. This unfortunately did not solve the problem I was having then (I understand that things like this happen).

Unfortunately, since doing this, I now have a new problem. Every time I try to save my documents, I get this error message: "The save failed due to out of memory or disk space ." I am out of neither one, so this is some kind of bug. When I press the <OK > button, I then get "Do you want to retry the save? " When I press <Yes >, I get to press <Replace existing file? > every time.

One thread recommends setting properties to "Run as Administrator." This did not work.

I would appreciate someone helping out on this. Thanks.

Jeff

this does work, and i do know about this workaround, but unfortunately, not my entire workplace has migrated to office 07+, so those still on 03 and lower cannot use the new file format. this is not an acceptable fix for me. issue unresolved (no COM add-ins).

for those that still need to keep their files in legacy .doc/.xls/.ppt '03 format, the actual problem, for my company anyway, is that there are missing visual basic references that need to be unlinked.

right-click the "file" ribbon title, and click "customize the ribbon..."  in the main tabs area, check the "developer" box.  close this menu.

the "developer" tab should appear in your ribbon bar.  click this tab, then click the "visual basic" button.  in the visual basic interface, click the "tools" menu, and click on the "references..." option.  uncheck any references that start with "MISSING"

close the visual basic interface and you should be able to save your document without the above error message.

Sorry Sal Junda, but your fix did not work for me! However I found out myself a few days ago that saving file as RICH TEX FORMAT will work for me. Nevertheless, this is not an acceptable solution.

    Thanks any way.
