Ron of Canada,
My comment about rocket science..., is more of a reflection on me than it is on you.
One Microsoft web site stated that I should have two or three pieces of information before asking for help. Upon my return to this site, I was advised that I would have to pay for a new product key. The previous web sites I visited stated that I need only
ask for the product key. Imagine that, I uncovered at least one conflict from one web site to another, and they were both Microsoft web sites.
I'd like to know who I can contact to advise me why I've found some sort of "abuse" being reported. The "abuse" could be one of many things. I'd like to know specifically what sort of abuse I've commited. You shouldn't need to be told to judiciously use
the "abuse" button.
I was employeed as a programmer/analyst for more than several years with my previous employer. In time I discoverd that our help desk operators had a button to indicate that one person or the other was "always" calling the help desk. I suppose "abuse" is
subjective.
I too served as an intermediate "help desk" person, because MY USERS found our help desk a little more like a "helpless" desk.
My sense of urgency is elevated because I use my Office programs to do things like balance my checking account, among other things like paying my bills. I nearly lost my auto insurance because I didn't know I had not paid my premium.
I'm not in the habit of asking pointless questions. I did exactly what you instructed me to do. Step by step. I even replied that your solution produced something useful. The magical jelly beans program is nice, but it only produced six records. It gave
me something I could examine after all.
I was just a bit elated about making some/any progress at all. You should know that the other two utilities I found produced 39 records, a far cry more than six, but not nearly as well defined and displayed as the first program.
I fail to see how "abuse" can be built on a single phrase, 'it is not rocket science.' I used no profanity. I didn't slander or insult anyone, largely because I don't even know you. Help me understand why I am being associated/charged with "abuse."
If you bothered to read my profile, I made it very clear that I am not well versed in all things "Microsoft." That is why I asked for help.
In closing, here is the very first sentence I made, "I PURCHASED the MS Office Standard 2007 quite some time ago when I was in school." I've made frequent use of these programs, even if they are out of date. I have a PID and Part No. for this CD/software,
as if it would help anything..., I don't know, do you?
