How can I retrieve my Office 2007 Product Key from my computer

I purchased the MS Office Standard 2007 quite some time ago when I was in school.

I've made frequent use of this program, even if it is out of date.

I've read that I can even search for the Product Key on my Notebook computer. How do I do that? and what do I look for?

So far, I've followed what ever I've been told to do, at just Microsoft web sites.

I have all the critical pieces of information that make it plain and simple, that only I have used this comuter, and that software, and I paid for everything.

Can someone please help me to get this problem fixed?

It is a lost Product Key..., it isn't rocket science.

Maybe someone can tell me how to find this on my compuer?

I've been chasing this problem for more than a couple of weeks now. This is getting old.

Thank you,

jeff

To find it on your computer www.magicaljellybean.com, download, install and run it. It will show all Product Keys on the computer.

If you have been doing this for a couple of weeks you have been looking in the wrong places.

If you bought a download, the supplier has a record of the key and there will also be a download link. No one is doubting that you bought this product.

    Ron of Canada,

My comment about rocket science..., is more of a reflection on me than it is on you.

One Microsoft web site stated that I should have two or three pieces of information before asking for help. Upon my return to this site, I was advised that I would have to pay for a new product key. The previous web sites I visited stated that I need only ask for the product key. Imagine that, I uncovered at least one conflict from one web site to another, and they were both Microsoft web sites.

I'd like to know who I can contact to advise me why I've found some sort of "abuse" being reported. The "abuse" could be one of many things. I'd like to know specifically what sort of abuse I've commited. You shouldn't need to be told to judiciously use the "abuse" button.

I was employeed as a programmer/analyst for more than several years with my previous employer. In time I discoverd that our help desk operators had a button to indicate that one person or the other was "always" calling the help desk. I suppose "abuse" is subjective.

I too served as an intermediate "help desk" person, because MY USERS found our help desk a little more like a "helpless" desk.

My sense of urgency is elevated because I use my Office programs to do things like balance my checking account, among other things like paying my bills. I nearly lost my auto insurance because I didn't know I had not paid my premium.

I'm not in the habit of asking pointless questions. I did exactly what you instructed me to do. Step by step. I even replied that your solution produced something useful. The magical jelly beans program is nice, but it only produced six records. It gave me something I could examine after all.

I was just a bit elated about making some/any progress at all. You should know that the other two utilities I found produced 39 records, a far cry more than six, but not nearly as well defined and displayed as the first program.

I fail to see how "abuse" can be built on a single phrase, 'it is not rocket science.' I used no profanity. I didn't slander or insult anyone, largely because I don't even know you. Help me understand why I am being associated/charged with "abuse."

If you bothered to read my profile, I made it very clear that I am not well versed in all things "Microsoft." That is why I asked for help.

In closing, here is the very first sentence I made, "I PURCHASED the MS Office Standard 2007 quite some time ago when I was in school." I've made frequent use of these programs, even if they are out of date. I have a PID and Part No. for this CD/software, as if it would help anything..., I don't know, do you?

I have no idea what the "abuse" reference means. There is a "Report Abuse" button available on every post.

I am grateful for the program I downloaded, installed, executed and retrieved about six product keys. It helped a little..., but not the help I really need.

However, I'm after the product key for "MS Office Standard 2007." Some of the keys I got back haven't really helped much.

I've found a couple of other programs that essentially do the same thing. No help there either.

Here is a little bit of confusion. My operating system returned a key having a description that did not perfectly match the title that I'm searching for.

"MS Office Standard 2007" Is clearly displayed on the original CD, which I still posess. I also have the PID for the CD.

I hesitate to enter any of that information in this reply, allowing everyone to read it.

How can my CD show one title, and my computer showing a different title for Office suite??

    thanks. jeff

What the program you ran, shows what is on your computer. It is up to you to determine why your disk is different not us.

You said you lost a Product Key, it isn't rocket science. I showed you how to find the key, just as you asked. Now you move the goalposts.
