I have an older version of Word, Word 2000,  it makes a .doc, how do I use FileFormatConverters to open a word 2007 docx?

I don't know how to use FileFormatConverters. Thanks

FileFormatConverters has nothing to do with this. You need the Office Compatibility Pack from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941B3470-3AE9-4AEE-8F43-C6BB74CD1466.

Note in the System Requirements section of that page that you must have at least Office 2000 Service Pack 3 in order to install the compatibility software.
