Problems when saving powepoint presentation as PDF...

Please help!

I am trying to finish up a presentation for class. I am using Office/Powerpoint 2007 on a brand new laptop. I do the "save as PDF/XPS" option and it seems to save fine. When the PDF opens as it does automatically after the save, I get the error "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem".

I cant figure this out. I have saved other pwerpoints as PDF's and never had this problem. All my programs are up to date as far as updates. I even tried some free "nitropro" program which is a PDF converter, and that ran for like 40 mins converting it, and then it froze up on me and was just a waste of time. Good times. Decided to just delete that Nitro **** from my computer as I was frustrated at this point.

Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance.

Reader X then ... that should be good enough for now.

It's possible that there's something in the JPGs that's giving PPT indigestion (and it's passing that along to the PDF).

Can you post an example slide or two someplace where we can download it?

    Skydrive for example?

And/or as a test, if you still have the original JPG files, convert them to BMP.

Delete the pics from PPT and re-add them, using the BMP filies this time.

Convert that to PDF and see if the problem still arises.

What version of Acrobat or Reader do you have?

After you dismiss this error message, does the file display correctly anyway?

    And of course:

Have you contacted yourself, as requested by Adobe?  ;-)

What's different about this file vs the others you've created that don't provoke errors?  There may be some specific PPT feature that, when used, causes PPT to make a PDF that your version of Reader/Acrobat doesn't like.

We were having this issue at our office with a specific PPTX file on multiple PCs.  This points to the file properties rather than a software issue.  On further investigation, the inserted images (.PNG files) were not properly cropped (excess border on the bottom of the picture).  I re-cropped these images eliminating unnecessary "sideage", then re-pasted the images into the PPTX.  Both of these images were circular in shape so I then needed to eliminate the white square/rectangular border around the images.  By double clicking on each image I could select the SOFT EDGE OVAL picture style (from the top center row of style options) and it trimmed off the white borders.  The slide then presented what the user wanted to display.

One thing that seems to have made a big difference is after completing the slide as desired, I did a LEFT CLICK on the slide in the left hand column and selected FORMAT BACKGROUND.  There is a checkbox to HIDE BACKGROUND GRAPHICS.  When I checked this box, it removed an obscure graphic that was an apparent artifact from the original PPTX Template.  After doing this and saving the PPTX file, it enabled me to be able to save the PPTX as a PDF file.

I am at work at the moment, but I updated Adobe while going through this mess. The icon on the desktop is "Adobe Reader X". I will have to check on the exact version number when I get home. I assume it's the latest and most currernt version, but I could be wrong.

After the error pops up, and I click "ok" or whatever it is to continue, the PDF comes up but only shows the borders of my presentation (like the format of my outline, or the borders of the presentation), but there is no pics or text. I hope that makes sense. Basically, it looks like my presentation as far as the borders appear, and color scheme, but there is no text or pics.

There is nothing really different with this presentation than my others. The only thing I can think of , is maybe its a bit longer? It's only 17 slides so shouldnt really cause an issue. After reading countless forums and "how to" pages, I'm thinking it maybe has something to do with the way the pics are formatted? Their JPegs by the way.

Honestly, I have no idea and its getting super frustrating as I wanted to be done with this project on Saturday. Thanks for the reply, and thanks again for any help you can provide.
