By default, Excel will use the unit corresponding to your regional settings in Windows,

To choose another unit:

Select File > Options.

Click Advanced and scroll down to the Display section.

Select mm from the Ruler units dropdown and click OK.

Hi,

Windows offers a choice between metric units (cm) and imperial units (inch), not mm. So you have to set this in Excel itself.

I've done that with Excel but as a matter of interest, I cannot find any settings for millimetres as the default via regional settings
