hand symbol not showing

In a cell that was created using Ctrl+K and has a full url inserted, the hand symbol doesn't show when the cursor hovers over cell.  Instead a plus sign does.  This has been done in other cells in the same spreadsheet.

What could be going on and what can I check?

Thanks!

If the cell is very wide or very high, the "hand" will not show up until the cursor is really over the hyperlink itself.

In earier version of Excel the "hand" would display if the cursor was anywhere over the cell.

    And there it is...!

I was confused because I have narritive/description cells that contain one word but use a Ctrl+K word.  Any portion of that cell displays the hand.  I figured all cells were the same.

Thanks for clearing this up.   I use 2007 by the way.
