How do I get rid of "Formatted:" in margins of document?

Suddenly my 300 page document shows these red boxes that say, "Formatted: Font: 11 pt:" up and down the margins. Usually  these margins are used for comments and suggestions made back and forth between myself and the editor. Now it shows this, as well as the comments on all my pages. I may have clicked on something accidentally to bring  this about. I don't want to see it, but I'm afraid to click on something that might mess up the document even more. I want my font to be Times New Roman 11 pt. But I don't need to show these format changes within the margins or anywhere else. How do I change and save the font without showing these changes? Thanks so much.

To accept the formatting changes (and no other changes): On the Review tab, click Show Markup, and then deselect all options except for "Formatting" on the submenu. You can then use Accept | Accept All Changes Shown.

At one point, the option must have been enabled, of course, since the document does contain tracked formatting. :-)

As far as the Show Markup drop down is concerned, note that it changes the display only, which is restored (by default) the next time you reopen the document. You can control the display options to a certain extent by deselecting the "Make hidden markup visible when opening or saving" in the Trust Center Settings, but it only affects the appearance on your machine. In other words, for privacy reasons, it's better to keep the setting on.

They're part of the "markup." On the Review tab, in the Tracking group, click the bottom of the Track Changes split button and choose Change Tracking Options from the menu. In the Track Changes Options dialog, clear the check box for "Track formatting."

By the way, I did as you asked and cleared the formatting tracking, and clicked "OK" at the end. But that didn't get rid of all the "Formatting" boxes in the margins of the document. I mean, maybe fron now on, it will not show them, but how do I get rid of all the ones that are still there?, well, what I just did was go back and in the same Tracking options I tried  "Show Markup" I cleared the box that said "formatting" and it got rid of all the previous formatting messages!! I hope it lasts. Thaks again.

Thank you. But let me ask you something; by clearing this "Track formatting" box, will it also clear tracking changes that i'm doing as I edit the document and those that my editor is changing or suggesting? Because I still need to see those. It is ONLY the "Formatting" messages that I see in the margins that I want to get rid of. AGain, thank you for your time and the answers you provide.
