I have a drop down box in Excel...I want to also be able to enter a free form entry in that same cell as well as have the option to use the drop down list.  HOW do I do that, and what's the terminology...for some reason, this isn't discussed as a DROP DOWN LIST issue.

Uncheck "Show error alert when invalid data entered"

If you want the free form entry to become a permanent member of the dropdown list you must employ VBA event code.

The code and a sample workbook can be found at Debra Dalgleish's site if interested.
