Creating a database of image files

Hi.

I am trying to create a database of image files where I can search/sort by other fields (eg. year, type...). After finding the images I want I then want the database to form a file (word/pdf or other) that has all these images in that I can then print. Even better would be if I could select individual images to input and then change my sort fields to add other images.

I am not to sure if this is possible. But I do not even know where to begin and any help would be really appropriated. Thank you a lot!

For the second time this week . .  check out http://www.ammara.com/

this little add-in will give you great control over the images - JPG . .

But you still need to put together a table structure to create your index.

for printting these pics - in any combination . . create reports and add the pics in as controls on the report.

if you download the DBPix program ( free with a watermark ) it has sample DBs to see how to use it.

These samples may give you the info to create your index DB

    cheers

Although it is possible to store images and it can be done in several ways in the later version, it is not adnisable to do so. Even with the Ammara control (which does work well) the database will fill quickly and both individual and network performance can suffer. I have a free utitlity on my website that will traverse a directory and save the path of every image file in a table. There are also demos of displaying in a form or report. All of this is free for you to import into your own database:

That's an exceptionally handy little tool.

I've been puzzling this very problem for some time and trying to fiddle some sort of data app/report together.

    Thank you for sharing!
