Saw an article suggesting that one can add notes to a word document.  The article was not from Microsoft.  It requires that one select view, then markup... I cannot find markup.  Is there a way to add notes as is done in adobe PDFs?  Guidance sought

I think Notes are only used in MS PowerPoint. In Word under the "Review" tab you can Markup document adding "Comments," etc. Also you could always insert a Callout containing a note to the side of the document. There is also a software you can download to Word and add a sticky note.

To leave a note in a Word document, you can select a word or line of text, click "Comment" on the Insert tab (newer versions) and type your comment in the text box.
