sticky note tables to big with inserted symbols

Hi, problem with insertion of symbols. I have several symbols that I placed in a table on a sticky note so that I could access them quickly. However, the table is very tall and the cursor is several times the height of the symbol so the table cells are very much higher than needed making my sticky note very large.

I create a table in Word and place a symbol in each square, then copy and paste it onto the sticky note, adding symbols to it as needed. I can copy/paste the table or a symbol back into Word and the effect goes away.

I have checked the spacing above and below (before and after) as well as the line spacing. It does not matter if I set the spacing at 0 points before and after or if I set it at auto. My line spacing is set at single.

Portion of table as copied from Word or back from sticky notes.

<br>∈ <br>∉ <br>∩ <br>∪ <br>⊆ <br>⊈ <br>°
<br>nPr <br>nCr <br>∴ <br>→ <br> <br> <br>

Approximately what the table looks like in sticky notes.

The cursor runs the full height of the cell.

<br>∈ <br>∉ <br>∩ <br>∪ <br>⊆ <br>⊈ <br>°
<br>nPr <br>nCr <br>∴ <br>→ <br> <br> <br>

I have no problem with putting normal text or tables into a sticky note, just symbols. I copied the rightward arrow into a new table from Times New Roman instead of Cambria Math where I got the others and put that into sticky notes and the effect was greatly diminished. I changed the font of the table and tried copying it in each of several different fonts and the only change was that the ∩  °  nCr  and  →  symbols were now at the very top of their cells

Any ideas if this can be remedied? I have Windows 7 Home Premium on a Toshiba Satellite.

Thanks, Shoepuppy

Some formatting is definitely going to change, the sticky notes does not have the same formatting abilities as Word does.

Only thing i can think of is to create a note in Onenote and keep it there.

Thanks Guys, I put everything in a Word table which I make really small and keep in the corner when I'm doing math and cause I've never used Onenote, But it seems to work well for me. Thanks again Shoepuppy

Hi, thanks for responding. Here is link. If I did it right it will work, and if I did it wrong... I will do it different. Like I'll use screen shots instead of a Word app.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting the question in Microsoft Community.

I would require few details about the issue which will help us to analyze the problem and assist better.

    1. Are you referring to Windows 7 gadget sticky notes?
    2. What exactly do you mean by ‘Effect goes away’ when copied back from sticky notes to Word document?
    3. Does the issue occurs only when copied symbols into table in document or the normal document as well?
    4. Does the same issue persist when copied symbols into WordPad then copy back into table in Word?

You may upload the sample file on SkyDrive, so that we can try to reproduce the issue on our end. Upload sample file to the public SkyDrive folder and provide us the link.
