Please advise me on the compatibility of Office 2013 files (Word, excel, Powerpoint, Outlook PST & Publisher) with Office 2007.  I would like to know if created in 2007 I assume that 2013 will read it but if it created in 2013 can 2007 read and edit them?

I am most familiar with Word, but I believe it applies to all of the Office apps. I believe that is one of the common functions that has been mandated in all of the apps.

Maybe there is someone else out there that can advise me about the file compatibility of the Office apps other than Word.

    Yes to both questions.

When you open a 2013 file in 2007, 2007 will 'gracefully degrade' any 2010 or 2013 features that are not supported. For example 2010 "Text Effects" are simply stripped out (but the text remains), and some dynamic graphic effects are rendered static.

When you open a 2007 file in 2013, 2013 will display "compatibility mode" beside the file name. That just means that any new features that are not supported by the 2007 file structure will be disabled. You do have the option of converting to 2013 format if you wish.
