Upside down exclamation point Mac Word 2011

I've found the upside down question mark (alt+shift+?) but I cannot find the upside down exclamation point. Same keystrokes give me a weird question mark in a box symbol. These characters are not listed in the symbol browser either.

Hold the Option key while you type the exclamation mark ( Option+! inserts ¡ ).

Try using the OS X Keyboard Viewer & the OS X Character Viewer to familiarize yourself with accessing characters that aren't monogrammed on the key caps :-)

    Hi Sashea,

Go to Mac's System Preference > Keyboard > Keyboard Tab and there's a checkbox for "Show Keyboard & Character Viewers in menu bar." Mark this and you'll get a little square icon on system menu bar on the right hand side near your login name, date and time.

You'll find what you're looking for in the Character Viewer > Punctuation. Drag or Copy the characters you need.

    Hope this helps
