Downloading photos to MS Office Picture Manager

How can I download photos efficiently  into MS Office Picture Manager?  When I used Windows 7, a pop-up menu allowed me to choose from existing filenames and also title groups of photos or individual photos during the download process.  Now, I can put photos into an existing file only  if I have already looked up the filename.  Also, there is now no opportunity to title photos during the download.  I can only  painstakingly retitle them after they are already in the file.

For example, say that  I have many photos from a vacation.  I want to put them into a file I call '4th Qtr 2012" which contains all photos from that time period. I first have to double check the exact filename before starting the download. If I want to title all photos from Disneyland with "Disneyland" and all photos from Seaworld with 'Seaworld', I have to rename them after they have been downloaded. Yes, I could create new, separate files for every group, but that's not how I work.

    Hi Astrid,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Community.  I understand how frustrating it would be to spend excess time in sorting and adding pictures in Picture Manager.

Let us work together and try our best to understand the issue and fix it. Before we proceed, I have a couple of questions:

    1. What is the version and edition of Microsoft Office suite installed on the computer?
    2. When you say title groups, are you referring the Add Picture Shortcut option to add a folder in Picture Manager?
    3. Are you adding the photos from a camera or external device?

Use Snipping Tool to capture screen shots of the steps you are performing in Picture Manager so that we can understand the issue better. Follow the below link on How to use Snipping Tool:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Use-Snipping-Tool-to-capture-screen-shots

Once you have the file saved containing screenshots, upload the file to SkyDrive so that we can check. Refer the following link on How to upload a document/Screen shot on SkyDrive:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproui/thread/4fc10639-02db-4665-993a-08d865088d65

Provide us more information on the issue and I will be happy to help you.

    Thank You.
