I can't open wps files

Had windows vista, my office doc's were saved as wps files. I can't open the files in windows 8 pro

Microsoft 365 and Office | Excel | For home | Windows

Yes, you would need to purchase software to open those files.  Microsoft Word 2010 will open those files, see...

OR

You could also try Office Web Apps (never have tried this so not sure if it will work)...

  1. Login into your windowslive.com account
  2. Click SkyDrive from the drop sown next to Outlook
  3. Then upload your document, once done
  4. Select Files from the left and then
  5. Select your document and it will open for editing

.WPS file are Microsoft Works files.  Works does not come with Windows 8 (which is the Operating System).  What, if any, Word Processing program do you have on your Windows 8 machine?

    Hmmm, sounds like that would a no because you would have had to purchase seperately OR have downloaded.  But to be sure, do you see anything that says *Microsoft Word* or just *Word*?
