Not able to install office 2010(error 1706 setup cannot find the required files setup.chm)

Hi

I have office 2003 already installed on my system i completely uninstalled 2003.

After that i restarted the system as i  wanted a fresh installation of Office 2010 Business edition but it was taking me directly to upgrade option then also i tried upgrading

By checking the option remove all previous version i installed it but getting error 1706 setup cannot find the required files setup.chm

    Hi,

    Thanks for the question! We can help you with  the installation of Office 2010. But I’m going to need a little more information first.

    Do you have the disc and the product hey for Office 2010?

    Try the below steps and check if it helps.

    Try to run the fix it from the below article to ensure all the keys and files related to Office 2003 are removed completely from computer:

    If you had Office trial previously installed on the computer, you may run the fix it for Office 2010 as well.

    Once the Office keys are completely removed, restart the computer and then try to install Office 2010, check the result.

    If the issue persists, restart the computer in clean boot mode to check if there is any non-Microsoft application interfering with the installation.

    If so, you may disable the unwanted software those conflict with the installation or get them updated.
