Office 2013 can't be installed because of Beta or pre-release version

I have been trying to install Office 2013 on to my Windows 7 laptop but the installer tells me it can't be done until I remove the Beta or pre-release version of Office it has identified.  I have uninstalled every program identified as an Office program.  I even uninstalled an Open Office program.  I now have no word processing program on my computer.  What is it seeing that I don't?

Thanks for the suggestions. In the end I called Microsoft and had a technician access my computer remotely. He downloaded the program differently (it was something like Home and Student Retail, was a large file) and it installed. Problem solved!

Anyone else having this same problem, I recommend just calling Microsoft. it's so much easier than trying to figure it out yourself and trawling through all the posts on this forum trying to find the answer!

ok.. that is not going to help... when you try to download 2013 using HUP... Click on "Order History" from the email that you have received then on "Order Details". Once you go to the Order web page, change the "Download Options" from 32 bit to 64 bit. I went through hoops and finally figured out!!!

I am having the same error come up when I try to install Home and Student 2013 on my brand new computer. There is no Office program on the computer. I have run the fix it application and restarted my computer several times, once it found and deleted something called Microsoft Office click-to-run.

I am at a loss as to what to do now, since it's a new computer and newly purchased licence. I even tried signing up for the free trial version of 365 (in order to put my product key in when it got going) and that wouldn't install for the same reason, same error message.

Any help or advice is much appreciated, thank you!

Post the exact error message that you receive when you try to install the Office 2013 suite.
