How do I repeat my header and footer on each page.

I am using Word 2010 and I am creating a document.  I have been using 'Break, Next Page' for the first 4 pages as I do not want the header or footer to display.

I started the header and footer and it works on just one page.  How can I get it to keep repeating?

Thanks!

Ty

Go into the header or footer.

This will automatically activate the Design tab of the ribbon.

In the Options group, there are check boxes for "Different first page" and "Different odd and even pages".

If "Different first page" is ticked, the first page of a section has its own header/footer that won't be repeated on the next pages. If "Different odd and even pages" is ticked, even-numbered pages have a different header/footer than odd-numbered pages.

Also check for header and footer of the second, third etc. sections whether "Link to Previous" is on. If it is off, the header (or footer) of the section is independent of that of the previous section. If "Link to Previous" is on for the second etc, section, all sections will have the same headers / footers.

Does your document contain section breaks?

    Hello Hans,

That is what is supposed to work, but it doesn't. I tried checking those options for 'different first page' and alternately 'different odd and even pages', saving, closing and then re-opening the document, then unchecking, saving, those same options, etc, etc and my document would only show the header on the first two pages, but not the remaining three pages. I ended up just copying and pasting the desired header onto each page.

Could it be because I used a textbox? I have been using Word since it's inception (back in the days when WordPerfect was around, just before Word took over the world:)

    Thanks,

    Yes it does.......

Does that mean it won't work at all or should I add the section breaks in afterward?

    Thanks for your reply!
