Placing a footer only on the last page?

Some of my documents have footers on all of the pages except the first page, and some have them only on the last page. I would like the footer to only display on the last page. How do you specify this?

Thanks

    Hi Stan,

    You can do that by putting a Section Break (Menu Bar > Insert > Break... > Section Break Next Page) at the end of the page prior to the last page of the document.

    Make sure the last page's footer is Unlinked from the prior page's footer. You do that from the Header and Footer contextual ribbon tab in the Options Group. There you will see a checkbox for Linking to Previous. Make sure it's unchecked.

    Hope this helps

    Here's another solution, but it requires some familiarity with fields.

    Use this footer in all pages: {IF {PAGE } <> {NUMPAGES} "" {PAGE}}
