Setup cannot find PowerPoint.en-us\PptLR.cab

Trying to install Office 2010 on Windows 8 Pro on 32bit. It says "Setup cannot find PowerPoint.en-us\PptLR.cab".

I also copied office 2010 to destop and tried again, but got the same error. Its not taking the path, says "invalid path" while the PptLR.cab is present.

I also went to System Configuration and chose Diagnostic startup under general tab, but as I hit Apply button, it changes to Selective startup with load system service. When I restarted and tried to re-install office again, got same error as before.

Also System configuration option came back to as before, Seems it is not saving the changes I did on it.

now how to install office 2010 on Wndows 8 pro (32bit)?

The suggested fix is not credible. I have a dvd purchased from Microsoft with office professional 2010. I have installed on 3 machines I have owned without issue. Today I tried to install it on a surface pro 3 I just bought. I applied all windows updates (69 of them by the way) and upgraded to W10. Then I tried the install. Shortly into the install I got the same error message these others talked about. Just tell me where I can get the file and put it on the machine so the load can occur.

What the heck is this answer. There is no other version of Powerpoint, and how on earth would you uninstall if previous version does not exist.

Method 2 is a standard MS ripoff, which is an outright buy. We all knew that, duh.

Please advise where we can download an update to the 2007  PowerPoint.en-us\PptLR.cab, NOT soliciting us to buy another Office.

    Thanks,

    FN
