Navigation to the webpage was cancelled

I have Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 and Windows XP. I'm also using Excel Now! for a Business Modeling Class. I can't seem to connect to the internet through Excel. I have Internet Explorer 8. Whenever I try to play an Excel Now! tutorial video or even just import data from the from the web in the Data tab, a window pops open and tries to connect to the web but then says "Navigation to the webpage was cancelled".  When I refresh the page I am told the most likely causes are that I'm not connected to the internet, the website is encountering problems or there may be a typing error in the address.  None of these are right because I am connected to the internet (I'm using it right now), no website seems to work through Excel and there are no typing addresses. I also get an error message if I try to go directly to a website and from there export data into Excel using the option "Edit with Microsoft Excel". Excel opens and I say ok to Import Data to existing worksheet but I get a message that "an unexpected error has occurred". I don't know what to do...

    Repair office 2010.

    Also try this on IE:

    1. Click Start

    Collapse this imageExpand this image

, type Internet Options in the Start Search box, and then click Internet Options in the Programs list. 2. Click the Security tab, and then click Trusted Sites in the Select a zone to view or change security settings area. 3. Click to clear the Enabled Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer) check box, and then click OK. 4. Restart Internet Explorer.
