WHEN I DO THIS THE CONTENTS CHANGES ON ALL THE PAGES, I WANT TO ISLOATE THE TEXT AND NOT INTERUPT THE PAGE NUMBERS...

I think I need two footers. I want the text in each footer to read something different. Example: I have a document with multiple sections, at the bottom of each page in each section I have page numbers corresponding to that section, I also need to input a date each time that particular page gets revised. So the original page has the page number then I also need the following information as well, the date January 8, 2013 Revision: Original . However when I need to update the revision date of that particular page and the revision number, once I edit it, it needs to read the new date for that page only not the preceding or following pages. So when I change the date the next dates also change, I can't have that. I need to isolate each date and revision to a particular page.

Not sure if I am making sense. I also wrote a note below next to your comments. I hope you can help..

Click Office button | Word Options | Display and click to select "Object anchors"; that way, you can see the anchors in your document. Insert your text box via Insert tab | Text Box | Draw Text Box. By default, the anchor ends up in the paragraph containing the insertion point, but you can move it (select the text box first to see the anchor).

However, note that anchors move with text, so this solution won't be ideal. It will be a little more predictable if you make sure to anchor to paragraphs in the middle of the page.

Also, as Doug points out, revising on a page-by-page basis is not the best policy.

If you really mean footer, the repeated area at the bottom of each page, you can add several text lines to it, if you want. Just double-click the header to activate the header/footer view, and then add the content that you want in your footer.

If you mean something else, please clarify what you are trying to accomplish.

Can I ask you how to anchor it??  Will it always stay in the same place even if the text moves??  I really appreciate your help..

You have to insert a section break at the end of each page and then unlink the footer from that of the preceding section. Then you can have different content in each footer.

Faking it might be easier. Use a text box, anchored to the middle of the page but positioned so that it appears to be in the footer.
