Copy table as .jpg from IMB SPSS, and paste into word 2011 on mac as jpg

I have traditionally used a windows computer and have been able to use the "copy special" feature, select "jpg" and then paste a table from an SPSS (statistical computing software) output into word. I recently purchased a macbook air, and this is no longer working. Athough the "copy special" option allows me to select copying as an image (jpg, PNG), when I go to paste in word, there is no option for pasting as an image from the paste special menu. Am I doing something wrong here? Is there some preference I need to tweak? Thanks in advance for your assistance!

As Jim replied, there's nothing anyone here can do to change the behavior of the SPSS software... Have you contacted their support?

Have you tried just doing a regular copy in SPSS to see if Paste Special> Picture in Word becomes available?

tility option would be to take a Screen Shot using the built-in OS X feature or a utility app such as Grab [free] or SnapzProX [US $69] -- depending on what additional features you want.

It does seem clear to me now that the issue is with SPSS' ability to save the image to the clipboard. It would make sense, then, to go to the SPSS support page (http://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/overview/software/spss/spss\_statistics). However, I didn't have faith in their ability to solve my problem, so I didn't even bother trying.

The solution that I have come to is similar to what Bob suggested. I take a screen shot of the selected area with the "command+shift+4" command. This will bring up a cropping type tool. I then select the table, and it saves the image to my desktop automatically.

If someone is actually able to get a helpful response from SPSS, I would love to hear about it. For now, I'm satisfied enough with command+shift+4.

The problem appears to be that SPSS is not putting a picture onto the Mac OS X clipboard, or is not properly identifying picture content on the clipboard as a picture. There's not much Word can do about that.

Thank you for your reply Phillip. Based on your response, I'm not sure that my inquisition was clearly stated. I am attempting to copy a table from an SPSS output (statistical computing software), and then paste that table as an image. If I click, edit "copy special" I can check one of three boxes (or all three) that say: Plain Text, Rich Text (RTF), or Image (JPG, PNG). As a default, it will not copy this table as an image, but rather a text/table whose contents can be edited. I don't want this. I want to be able to manipulate the size of the table, and use the "wrap text" option to change its location in the document freely. However, by selecting "copy special" it is supposed that the table is copied as an image (given I have checked the box). However, when I use the "paste special" option in word, pasting as an image is not presented as an option. Rather, these options are available: Formatted Text (RTF), Unformatted Text, or Styled Text. Using the insert menu does not apply to this situation as the table from the SPSS output is not saved as an image file. In fact, the output is saved as a whole, included all tables, and graphs included in the statistical analysis, and is saved as a file that can only be opened in SPSS. What I want to do, and have done on windows computers is to simply copy a single table from the output, and paste it as an image in Microsoft Word 2011. I hope this makes more sense. Once again, thanks for taking the time to reply.

Just click  at desired location and use Command - V.  You can drag to new position as needed.

Actually is better  use Insert menu > Picture > from File.

Then click on it while holding down Control key.

    Context menu comes up

Choose Properties  the adjust desired position size , etc as necessary.

Here is a Video all though I am illustrating putting a Picture on a Picture will still illustrate how to insert a Picture and how to make some adjustments.
