How do I stop Word 2013 from automatically indenting the next line?

My previous text layout is like this:

asdfasdf (tab/indent 1)(tab/indent 2) asdf asdf asdfasdf asdf asd asdfasdf with the next line following after indent 2

Now when I type text on the next line, like a new paragraph, each time a word goes to the next line, it indents it twice when I don't want it to be indented at all. It's like it merges 2 indents, counts it as one and makes that the default. It does this automatically without me pressing tab, and there is no undo button if I mouse over the section that it indented... highlighting the word and decreasing the indent just decreases the indent for the whole paragraph, with the second line still indented.

A couple of things to check:

File>Options>Proofing>AutoCorrect Options>AutoFormat As You Type>Set left- and first-indent with tabs and backspaces.  Probably best unchecked.

Home Tab and click on the Dialog Launcher in the Paragraph section of the ribbon and check the formatting of the paragraph - Particularly the Special Indentation.

You may have to turn off more of the AutoFormat As You Type options. For example, if you see the indent along with an automatic number after you have typed the number 1 and continued typing, turn off the options that create numbered and bulleted lists.

Note that turning off AutoFormat options won't do the trick; you must turn off AutoFormat As You Type options.
