Fit to: 1 page(s) wide doesn't work

Hello,

I'm losing my mind here....

I'm trying to print a sheet, nothing fancy, and I'm trying to setup my printer to print the sheet in landscape format and "Fit to 1 pages wide". But it refuses to do so. Part of my selection is still outside of the page.

What could possibly be doing this? On any other sheet in the document there is no problem.

There are no style, font, zoom differences or any difference for that matter...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Lucas

    Thanks for your reply Pete123abc,

My right most column (of 3) is wider than the content. But I dragged the width of the column around a little and now it seems to work.

I already did this 15 times but somehow it took excel 16 times to take notice...

This software really pisses me off, do its programmers ever actually USE their own software??

And then it is time to work on the next software bug, which is automatically scaling my pictures if a sheet is selected.... aaargghh.

    Many thanks,

    Lucas

Problem might be with your rightmost column.  Be sure the column width has been expanded to fit contents. You can do that easily by double clicking on the little line separating the column labels in the suspect column, and the one to the right.  It will automatically resize. Keep your landscape and 1 by 1 settings the same. (Excel may decide that it's best to change the page size back to a percentage.  It can get sticky about that.  Do revisit that dialogue box.)

I find that Fit to page doesn't work as well as it used to.  (Excel user since 1996.)  Say I have 1" margins and do a fit to 1x1.  It'll come back with 70-80% of the size it used to.  I use Excel every hour of every working day.  Others I work with have seen the same thing.  My workaround is to manually scale to get the maximum size.  It's very frustrating!!

And while I'm whining, why can one hide multiple worksheets but not unhide multiple worksheets?  Please fix this!

I agree! It is totally frustrating and also wonder if programmers ever test their software. My problem is the same as  Lucas found -- but with an addition. It looks like Excel wants to set tiles as well. I've cleared that, but to no avail. (I don't want to print a jigsaw puzzle :-)

    In Excel purgatory....

Does this happen with a specific workbook or with all the workbooks?

Create a new workbook and verify the results.

You may also Try defining the print area and verify the results.
