Word 2010 - Index with a sub heading

I am stuck with index entries.   I have gone to the References ribbon, mark entries and marked all entries as I required and produced an index for a document.   However, there is an entry which should have 2 subheadings underneath the main entry and I have marked each of the 3 entries as separate entries.   I've tried to change it but it won't work.

Which steps do I need to get these 2 subheadings underneath the main entry, ie I have Holiday Entitlement as a main heading and should have 2 headings underneath it.

What is the syntax of the XE fields? You need to include the main heading along with the subheading. In the Mark Index Entry dialog, these are represented by "Main entry" and "Subentry." Filling both these in will give you a field such as { XE "books:cookbooks" }. If you need yet another level, just add a colon and another word: { XE "books:cookbooks:Italian" }.

I'm glad that worked for you. Note that you don't have to re-mark the entries; you can edit the original entry. Display Hidden text to display the XE fields and just edit the relevant ones to have the required syntax.

Thank you for your help.  I went in and remarked the entries and updated the index and it's come out how I should have had it.

Here is another way of doing it:
