I have a Lenovo Core i7 laptop that has Windows 8, and I accidently uninstalled my Microsoft Office program permanently on my laptop. I was wandering if there was any way that I could install the Microsoft Office back onto my laptop again?

Make sure you actually had a purchased version of Office on the new laptop. All computers come with a free trial version of office. You would have paid $200 more or less for Office and it would have come with an activation key. You can download the office software you bought from Microsoft using the key.

Same way you installed it the first time.  If it came pre-installed, contact the system manufacturer for the method they have given you to restore such things.  Usually you utilize your installation media (like a CD or DVD) and the product key for said product and install it.  What version of Microsoft Office?  What edition?

Installing an app using Windows Desktop

If you have a traditional desktop app you would like to use such as Microsoft Office or Adobe Photoshop, you can install your application from the Desktop app. Depending on the medium on which application is available, you might see different options on the Windows screen. For this example, we are going to install Microsoft Office from a CD.

    Insert the disc:

The following popup menu will appear from the right of the screen, click on it to choose an action.

Depending on the options available, you can choose to run the application or open and view the files on the disc. Some applications might not present an option to Run the program, so you might have to ‘Open folder to view files’ and run the setup.exe file from there. Your options depending on the program you are installing from might be different.

Consult the documentation that came with your program for instructions about how to install it. Follow the on screen options to install your program.

    Wait while the program installs.

Thats it, your program is now installed.

If your laptop does not have a optical drive:

Go to a computer with a CD or DVD drive

Insert your Office disc in the drive

Insert a thumb drive or an external hard disk with enough space (1 to 2 GB)

Click Start > Computer (or My Computer if the machine is running Windows XP)

Open the Office disc (browse it)

Press Ctrl + A on your keyboard to select all the files on the disc (if the computer is running Windows XP, click Edit > select All, then click Edit again and copy or if its Windows 7/Vista, click Organize > Select All, then click Organize > Copy)

Go back to Computer or My Computer

Open the thumb drive or external storage device

Right click in the storage device

    Click New > Folder

    Give it a name

    Open it

Press Ctrl +V on your keyboard to paste all the files on the disc in that folder (if the computer is running Windows XP, click Edit > Paste, or if its Windows 7/Vista, click Organize > paste)

    Close all windows

    Eject the storage device

Carry it to the Netbook, insert it into an available USB port

Open the folder on the storage device that has the copy of Office you copies

Launch the setup.exe file on the disk

    Proceed to install Microsoft Office.
