How to open .XPS file in Windows XP

Hi,

I have saved many files in .xps in my Windows 7 computer.  Whenever there is a need for me to read such information, I can just open them up from my desktop without having to go on-line to do so.  However, when I copied those .xps files to my thumbdrive and tried to open them in my Windows XP laptop, I cannot open them at all.

Please help me to enable my Windows XP to open and read such .xps files.

    I haven't used the XPS viewer/creator with Windows XP, but I would assume that it installs as a printer icon so that you can convert files by "printing" them; you should then be prompted for a filename and path.

    Alternatively, maybe the conversion uses some default path. Have you tried looking in the My Documents folder? Have you tried searching for files with the XPS extension?

    Hi Blom,

    Thank you for the link.  I downloaded the software and installed it onto my WinXP laptop and now I am able to view my .XPS files.

    There is one thing I need to check with you, I read from the download details that this software is able to view and generate XPS files but when I tried to save a page in xps format, it did not appear on my desktop or folder at all.  It just disappear into nowhere when I click save.  How come?  Is this only a viewer?  In my Windows7 I can create as well as view xps files.

    Please advise.

    What are the steps to perform the conversion? Is it via a printer icon as I assumed, or by some other means?

    Since I haven't used XPS myself (on Windows XP), I can't do any testing of my own...

    When I tried to save the page in .xps format, I got the follow Internet Explorer Script Error :-

    An error has occurred in the script on this page

    Can someone please advise me how to deal with this error to set it right?
