Removing or changing a master slide template in PowerPoint 2010

Greetings,

I would greatly appreciate anyone's help with the following: I have a PPT presentation (2010 in Wndows 7) that currently has a master slide template in use. As a result, each of the slides in the entire presentation has a large logo on it which I do not want on the slides- what I would like to do is change or remove the master slide, so that I still have all of the slides in the presentation as they appear now, (all text that was added to the slides and images that were added in the making of the presentation), but the logos are gone.

In the process, I would like to change the slides to a simple, standard template that is offered as a choice in PPT 2010.

I've read the MS help notes (like http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint-help/edit-a-slide-master-HP005194498.aspx) but maybe these are not the right ones for what I want to accomplish- somehow I can never do it successfully

Thanks very much for your help!

JT

Just applying a new design may not work if the original was not professionally created.

If the authorr just added an image to the master or layout it is marked by default as userDrawn (Thank you Echo for teaching me this!). In essence this means "They want it do-not remove"

Go to View > Slide Master and look at each master and layout and try to delete the logo. Then apply one of the Microsoft designs.

Nope, not trying to rip off somebody else's work- this was done internally, and my organization is officially off today due to MLK Holiday, so I can not reach out to my IT group for support on this.

If anyone else has suggestions, they would be most appreciated.

    Thank you

I hope you are not trying to rip of somebody else's work!

Professional is a moot point when it comes to templates. Lots of so called "pros" don't really understand how to make good templates. If it was made properly and the user intended the logo to be removed by changing templates well you would just need to apply a standard template.

Thank you John for the reply. I will try the suggestion to look at each master and layot and try to delete the logo on each one- But, let's say that is was professionally created, which I think it was- what would be the approach then?

    Thanks very much,

    JT
