How do I show or unhide menu and toolbar in Word 365

The menu and toolbar at the top of the page of Word 365 has disappeared as a result of something that I must have done. I've tried unsuccessfully for over an hour to show it again. Checked in the VIEW tab which seemed to be the logical place to look, but no luck.

How do I get the standard Word menu and toolbar back again?

I still have the Quick toolbar and mini-toolbar but I want the others back.

I'm using Windows 8

Help appreciated. F. White

I just found the answer to my own question. Found the tiny Ribbon Display Arrow in the upper right corner of the page. Clicked it and voila the menu and toolbar reappeared.

Microsoft needs to improve its Help file. I searched it using every search statement I could think of and came up empty.

    Anyway, consider this question closed.

An easier way to hide/show the Ribbon is to double-click on any tab. Word 2013 does introduce a new feature, however, allowing the Ribbon to be hidden entirely rather than just minimized (with the tabs still showing), and you are right that the control for this feature is pretty well hidden (if you hadn't described it, I probably wouldn't have found it and discovered the Auto-Hide setting).

    It looks like this:

The button in the middle drops down a menu. When you have Auto-hide Ribbon selected, you can click on the first button (three dots) or anywhere else at the top of the window to temporarily display the Ribbon. It will stay open until you click back in your document. This appears only in Word 2013, not in previous Ribbon versions.

Can you see the mini tool bar with File, Tools, and View?  If so, click tools, then edit document.  That worked for me.  Good luck!

Thank you for the information.  However, at the top of all my Microsoft products the entire ribbon and tabs are gone.  There is an area that says sign in but it does not allow to me to try and sign in.
