While there is no native ability that I am aware of that allows Word to transcribe text from a .WAV file (it only allows for spoken word transcription), you may find the following thread of interest.

Are you looking for a method to Transcribe digital .WAV files of a single person to text rather than recordings of an interview or conference, etc.?

WSR, Window Speech Recognition, which is built into Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8, converts speech to text. Although it does not have a built in method for transcribing digital .WAV files, the [commercial] WSRToolkit Version 3 has this feature. However, it is meant to be used by a single person who has a User Profile in WSR, uses a high quality recorder, enunciates clearly and dictates punctuation such as period at the end of a sentence. If you are thinking maybe you'll try it with a recorded interview or conference you will be wasting your time and money.
