How do I print "2 pages per sheet" properly? It comes out a mess!! (Pics inside)

Please review my settings at the top, I swear they SHOULD BE CORRECT. I've done this before, but I remember it being a HUGE hassle...and didn't seem like it needed to be :(

Can anyone assist? I'm trying to make it look like HOW IT IS in the HP Printer Options preview....two 5.5" x 8" docs side-by-side...TWO PER SHEET.

THANK YOU!!!

You appear to be using a "2 pages per sheet" setting in your printer Properties. To get the effect you want, you need to set the orientation to Landscape.

Instead of using the printer setting, you can do this directly in Word, which doesn't require you to change the printer settings to print a given document since the setting is part of the document layout. On the margins tab of Page Setup, for "Multiple pages," select "2 pages per sheet" and change the orientation to Landscape. Word will then give you a single page that is half a sheet. You can format it just the same as you would any other page, and you don't have to duplicate it on page 2; just print pages 1,1 (this may also be the solution to part of your problem with the printer settings if you created a single page and were expecting to get it duplicated).

Sorry for the delay in replying; we left home just about the time you sent the email and were gone for about six hours--doing some shopping but mainly checking out an impressive O-gauge model railroad layout at the Foley Railroad Museum. At any rate, I looked at your document and printed it and can't get it to misbehave. I've sent back an alternative version with a few changes, but I don't guarantee that it will work any differently for you.

Before replying to you, I tested it on my laser printer; just now, fearing that perhaps it would render differently on an inkjet printer, I tested it that way as well, printing pages 1,1, and I got just what I expected, so I don't know why it isn't working for you.

I actually adjusted the settings in the Margins tab, and turned off "Two per Sheet" in Printer Settings before my second post.

And just now, I tried what u just said (I had 1,2....instead of 1,1), but it still prints like this :(
