Quickly deleting strikethroughs and removing underlining

Hello,

I have to present text changes via strikethroughs (deleting) and underlining (adding). This is NOT with "track changes", it is simply formatting applied by me to the text.

I then have to present a "clean version" the next time. Going back and deleting the struck-through text and removing the underlining from the added text gets tedious, and I am wondering if there is a fast way to delete all words that have been struck through, remove underlining from words that have been added, and otherwise keep the formatting.

Is anything like that possible? Saving to a .txt file would remove the underlining, but it would also eliminate the other formatting, and I'm not sure if struck-through items would be deleted. Is there a better way to handle this?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

In that case just search for text with Strikethrough formatting and replace with nothing. Then search for underlined text (Ctrl+U  in the Find what box) and replace with no underline (press Ctrl+U twice in the Replace with box).

Ctrl+Spacebar (ResetChar) will remove direct font formatting. If the document doesn't contain any other direct font formatting, then Ctrl+A, Ctrl+Spacebar would do the job, but that's probably too drastic for a typical document.

If you haven't used strikethrough or underline for any other purpose, then you can remove it using Replace:

    1. Ctrl+H to open the Replace dialog.
    2. Click More to expand the dialog.
    3. With the insertion point in the (empty) Find what box, press Ctrl+U. You'll see "Format: Underline."
    4. Still in the Find what box, click Format, then Font.
    5. In the Font dialog, check the box for Strikethrough and click OK. You'll now see "Format: Underline, Strikethrough, Not Double strikethrough."
    6. With the insertion point in the Replace with box, click Format, then Style.
    7. In the Style list, choose Default Paragraph Font. You'll see "Format: Style: Default Paragraph Font."
    8. Click Replace All.

Thanks, that does help a bit.

I intended to delete the text with strikethrough, though, not just delete the strikethrough formatting.

I may have to automate this with Autohotkey or the like to make it simple.
