If you have Windows XP SP3, you can't run the most recent version of Office (Office 2013 / Office 365), but all earlier versions are compatible: Office 2010, Office 2007, Office 2003, ...

Microsoft itself currently sells only Office 2013 / 365, so to get Office 2010, for example, you'll have to find another source, for example Amazon.

I also just learned that CostCo apparently has a VERY good price of Office 2010.  MS has written code in the installer to prevent installing 2013 on XP or Vista.

Another good source for Office 2010/2007 is people who have a retail license that have upgraded to 2013 and are now looking to recover some of their investment in 2010.
