Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 -- Error 1706 on uninstallation

When attempting to uninstall an installation of Office Pro Plus 2010, the uninstall crashes (with little explanation), and I get the following error in the Application Error Logs:

  • Product: Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 -- Error 1706. Setup cannot find the required files.  Check your connection to the network, or CD-Rom drive.  For other potential solutions to this problem, see SETUP.CHM.

Followed by the following "Information" level log in the app log:

  • Windows Installer reconfigured the product.  Product Name: Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. Product Version: 14.0.6029.1000. Product Language: 0. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Reconfiguration success or error status: 1603.

I've tried to uninstall through both Programs and Features, as well as from the CD-Rom.  I get the same error both times.

Thanks in advance!

Dan

Try using the OffScrub10 utility that you can download from the following page of my Windows Live SkyDrive:

I have an error message 1706 which has to do with Single Image 2010.  Do you have a solution?
